10 days ago, I posted some mental notes from a talk by Brett Slatkin. Now, you can watch his original talk on youtube! Catch all the many tips and details I missed, mixed up or simply did not mention.
As a matter of fact, Google has released a site with pretty much all the sessions from the Google I/O -- and boy, are those great to watch! The site contains both the video and the original slides, so we can all learn more about App Engine, GWT or many of the other interesting APIs Google has to offer.
When I am not wearing my App-Engine-Fan-hat, I am mostly interested in Java-based development, so I would like to point out a couple of gems I found particularily interesting:
- Effective Java Reloaded, a fun talk about Generics (yes, they can be fun) and Enumerations by Josh Bloch
- An introduction to the dependency injection framework Guice by the makers of Guice.
- Server-side JavaScript on the Java Virtual Machine by Steve Yegge
In addition to all these things mentioned above, there is tons of material about Android, GWT and more. Check it out and have fun!
